F É R I A [/color] In my field of paper flowers And candy clouds of lullaby

It was with a pleasant eagerness that the young female exchanged scents and greetings to the wolves surrounding her, catching each delicate perfume of each and storing it to her memory. Each tasted just a slight different, but with a distinct base that was these mountains and none other. Though a whimsical creature she was, her quiet nature led her to be an obsessive observer when the situation called for it. And silently she read in between the lines of several incidents that played out before her in the passing moments. In those whispers she heard jealousy and disproval, as well as sadness and hope. Ah but these were the tales of life where they not? And she but a small creature amongst the masses. She stood by quietly as the others communed, knowing she had little voice in the gathering for she knew no one. And perhaps it was more her nature and shyness that kept her speech at bay. The pack beta had come and gone, giving polite greetings before rushing off in search of their leader, something weighing upon her eyes as she went. She would ask.. But curiosity was kept in check, and quietly she followed the party as they moved out along the borders, her mind awash with ideas of the future. Indeed this was the season of their power, a season of both life and death. She welcomed the coming snows of winter, favoring the delicate flakes of white. Her voice was softly directed at the raven male as she jogged up near him, finding a wealth of knowledge lying deep within his eyes.
“ Does your home become laden with the weight of snow come winter? I have passed through many lands and though some seem to embrace the winter’s song, others remain barren and dead, with nothing save for the cold to mark the season’s changing.”

Hearing the group move out behind him made Basile feel better. They were back to the original plan. Hearing Keeya's words he snorted a little. That's how it is usually. When you're colored as I am, in a place that often has few trees, you learn to depend more on stealth and speed. I would like to see you hunt, Keeya. I have a feeling you'd be quite impressive. He thought, with a glance to her. He felt his fur ruffle in embarrassment, and he quickly shook it off.
Er...likewise, He stumbled a bit with her words. Aisha is not very stealthy yet. She still contains the mentality of a pup. Like her body has grown too big for her maturity. She will be easy to spot, because snow is often very quiet. He gave her a smile, and turned to gaze behind him. Seeing Aisha conversing with Jaden made him issue a low growl and whip his head back around. What is your opinion of this Jaden wolf, Keeya? His orbs asked, and he gave her a pained look. He had a feeling Keeya knew seeing Jaden with his sister tortured him to no end.
Before he could say anything further, the newest member, Feria came trotting up. He smiled at her, wiping away his anger at Jaden. He chuckled, imagining a Kameskai winter. We usually receive lots of snow. In the winter months, it is wise to find a den to hole yourself up in. Snow storms spring up, so that you cannot see past your muzzle. Winter is very familiar here, though, I'm not sure it is gentle enough to be called a song. He offered her another smile, glancing over to Keeya too hoping she'd heard him as well.
But do you really want to spend the winter alone, Basile? He though he heard as he looked to Keeya. Wouldn't you rather have another warm wolf to lay with and speak to? He shook the voice from his head, quickly looking away from the silver fem.

For a moment, Aisha was panic-striken. Had she forgotten the brutes name? How rude of her! She opened to mouth to give an apology when he continued. Jaden. She thought, the name making her banner raise and her eyes light like any girl with her first crush. What a lovely name. Jaden. She smiled, looking bashful. You have a very lovely name. I only wish mine were as lovely. While Aisha was a naive little fem, flirting with males seemed to come naturally. She did it without even realizing. What made you wish to join the Kameskai, Jaden-of-the-yellow-eyes? She blushed again and looking into his yellow orbs. Luma's orbs were yellow, Aisha recalled, but they were nothing like Jaden's. His were bright and clever, attractive. Drawing her in. She felt her skin heat under her fur.

The young femme was clearly falling for his charms. He had read it in her eyes, smelled it dripping from her pristine pelt. He had known charming her would be easy... But the lack of challenge was almost a dissapointment. He had known her for less than a day, yet she was already drowning him in a sea of undisguised, plainly stated compliments. It was far too simple. Was there a catch? There had to be some sort of catch...
What do you speak of, fair Aisha-of-the-ivory-coat? he asked, using her compliment format. Your name is more elegant than any I've ever heard... It sounds like the light pricks of new snow kissing the grass. Like nothing else. He kept his deep voice soft and smooth, like the spring sunrise that slowly melts the last snowflakes into nothingness.
As she voiced her question a pained expression crossed his face, remembering how treacherous his time as a loner had been. He had never found the true love he hadn't searched so hard for. He had never even met his dear children... I come in search of compainionship, he told her somberly. My life prior to joining this pack has been a lonesome one. I had a mate once, breifly before searching for a pack... he took in a sharp breath, for the ease of lying as painful, But there was an accident... he grew very silent, his head watching his feet move. But that is behind me...
A slight, sorrowful smile entered the lightning orbs Aisha seemed so entranced by. My life as a Kameskai is all that lays ahead

Keeya Light streaming through the trees lit Keeya from behind, giving a yellow glow to her fur. She dipped her head in response to Basile’s answers. Her mind easily agreed with the statement that Aisha would not be so stealthy, and she played out an almost comical hunt scene in her brain. On noticing Basile’s pained look though, she turned around as well to glance at the couple. As she did so, she caught a glimpse of a smile the male was offering Aisha, a smile that ripped open her heart and left her standing, too shocked to continue keeping pace with the others. The pups huddled in a cluster, protected from the scene that was taking place before them by their mother. The howls of the pack lifted, soared into the sky, cries of pain, cries of defeat, and one single, haunting note of triumph. The leader, their beloved leader, backed down, his tail between his legs, and ran off into the undergrowth. The young male who had challenged him, had fought and won, turned to face the pack, the pups… with the smile on his face. That smile.
That was when she had run, run faster than she had ever done so in her life. She had run from that triumphant, sneering, smile that had now returned in the form of this youngster walking behind her. Jaden had won. Had won something, or was about to win something. Keeya did not know, could not understand what this was, but she was comforted by Basile’s growl, his mutual dislike of this male. Quickly trotting back ahead to regain her place with the two at the head of the group, she caught the end of Basile’s reply to Feria’s question, and smiled weakly at the two. There was a tight feeling in her chest at seeing just the two of them together, but she couldn’t quite place why.

Aisha's orbs widened, and she let out a soft whimper. Oh, Jaden. I am so very, very sorry. She rubbed her head against his neck in a comforting fashion. I am sorry for the loss of your mate and children. Aisha could see no other reason as to why he'd be here alone. To lose your family… and you are still so young. She shook her head, not able to imagine what that loss would feel like. She silently began to wonder what it'd be like to have a mate, and she felt herself glance at Jaden. She saw his sorrowful smile, and gave him a sympathetic smile in return. Perhaps...you could find happiness here again. Aisha was falling hard for Jaden, and it was now that she realized. She wished her and Jaden could go explore the Kameskai together. Perhaps he would tell of his old mate, and his past. Perhaps he would say Aisha was far more pretty and that he wished only to ever be with her. Perhaps... Aisha gave herself a mental shake. It wasn't good to daydream about the male beside you. She turned and smiled at him again. When all is done here Jaden, I can show you the Kameskai and tell you about the land and the pack. Perhaps I could tell you more of myself. Her eyes sparkled with an alluring light, for now she was truly aware and flirting.
