Keeya Keeya laughed as Basile caught up to her, then overtook her. So you think you can outrun me eh? She shook her head and ploughed on, panting lightly, following in the direction the male had steered. Her legs pounded against the ground, and she put on a burst of speed, forcing her powerful muscles to carry her towards Basile. As her tongue started moving in and out of her mouth at a faster and faster pace, she caught sight of the dark wolf ahead of her. Hey you! Watch this! she called out, gleefully. Lowering her head, the female charged forwards once more, powering on until she had just overtaken Basile. Keeya grinned wildly, and kept running on and on, dodging trees and boulders with the grace of a seasoned athlete.

[shadow=black] Basile [/shadow] Basile watched Keeya over take him and race ahead. He nodded in mid run, seeing her speed was not just a younger wolves claim. She'll come in handy during hunts. He thought to himself. Keeya, stop. You'll cross the border. He yelled ahead to her when the borders grew closer. He could still smell the faint scents of past markings. He slowed his run, gradually tuning it down to a slow trot. His pink tongue lolled from his maw, and his green orbs shone with a happy light. He looked about for Keeya's dark form as he walked. He hoped she hadn't crossed the border, though here it wouldn't matter. At the line near the Ravilin it would, however. He'd thought she'd run a little to the right, but perhaps she had crossed it. Circle back to me Keeya. so we can mark the borders together. When he reached the border and snuffed along the ground. No loners had trespassed, it seemed. Good. He thought. He raised his leg, marking the border again. He then trot to a tree which stood just over the border lines. He rubbed his body against it, transferring his scent. He scraped his paws across the dirt, making small cuts into the soil. This too transferred his scent of Kameskai unto the grounds.

Keeya The young female pricked her ears as she heard Basile calling to her. Shaking her head, she turned a wide circle, going back in the direction from which she had come. As she approached the male, she slowed to a trot, then paced up and down beside him slowly in order to wind herself down. As she watched Basile leaving his scent over the area, she realised how she hadn't really been taught an awful lot about doing so. Keeya settled onto her haunches, eyeing the male's every move, waiting until she felt confident enough to try and emulate him. She rose to snap at a fly buzzing around her head, but missed her footing and slipped, falling onto her back. Embarrassed, she starting rolling from side to side, indicating that she was merely helping to mark the border. Darting from tree to rock to bush, she rubbed herself over the area, adding herself and the scent of the pack to the myriad scents already making up the area. After she had been over the area, Keeya grew distracted and tired of the surroundings. How much is adequate? Can we move on now?

[shadow=black] Basile [/shadow] Basile watched Keeya mark her sent along with him, and nodded in approval. He smiled to answer her question. Yes. We can leave now. Their scents would be noticeable for a bit of a walk. They follow the borders, marking every now ans then. It was a slightly boring job, Basile realized. He raised his muzzle, detecting scents of far off loners. His fur bristled as he turned to trot on. Come, Keeya. Let's head to the next marking spot.He trot ahead, slightly more business like then before. On the borders, he didn't wish to play around. His pale green orbs turned to gaze at Keeya. Will you promise to be serious for now, pack sister? On the borders we are more at risk. We can race later, if you wish. He offered her an apologetic smile. He then turned his gaze to the area past the borders and inhaled the scent of coming fall. Soon, it would be winter. The mountains would be covered in the beautiful blankets of snow. He sighed, happy the snows were on their way, before turning back to Keeya. Are you ready to continue, Keeya?

Keeya Keeya trotted after Basile, stopping every now and then to leave her scent. With all the restlessness of a puppy churning around inside her, it was difficult to remain still and focused, but the look on the male's face as he had asked her to do so had been hard to resist. She stopped as he paused to look past the borders, and wondered what on earth he was thinking about, such a contented look that it was crossing his face. Yes, I'm ready to go, she grumbled, hoping that the next section of the border might carry something of interest. She perked up her ears as she trotted along, imagining to herself the possible things they may come across. Perhaps... some flowers, or some water. Maybe a longear burrow. Or. or. or. A scent! the scent of... prey. or another wolf. Her tail sweeping from side to side, she lowered her snout to the ground and scented along the path. Gradually they stopped again, and she squatted under a tree, noticing as she did some leaves on the ground. The grey wolf looked up into the branches and whuffed in surprise. Basile, look! Some of the tree's leaves are yellowing. She looked up in awe at the spectacle of colour, a brown leaf falling from the tree above her. Keeya sneezed as the foreign object landed on her nose.

Basile trot along glad Keeya could listen so well. He too marked places as they went. His brow raised as she expressed surprise over the trees. Perhaps she hadn't seen trees in fall. He shrugged mentally, smiling at her amazment. Yes, they are. Some will turn red as well, perhaps orange. We have mostly spruce up in the mountains, so their needles are constanly green. They don't really have leaves. They make a nice bedding though. You just have to find soft ones. They harden up over time. He nodded to her. In the winter, information like this would come in handy. He'd found many uncomfortable caves that were greatly imporved by the comfort and smell of spruce needles.

Keeya [/b] Keeya laughed. I know what pine needles are brotherwolf she shouldered him teasingly, I'd just... there weren't any she glanced upwards at the tree once more firetrees around our den. Our trees were.. um.. mother said.. evergreens. That was it. She picked up a mouthful of the spruce needles, and with a toss of her head, flung them at the dark male. Keeya turned to face him, and as she did so, picked up a scent on the breeze; another wolf. Basile, she whimpered, her playful spirit evaporating, I think someone's following us. (ooc: Tay, I think Zanna's joining this thread, thats why I posted that, I can change it if she doesn't come. c; )

Basile shook himself, dislodging the pine needles. He chuckled at Keeya's actions, placing his mouth on her shoulder and pulling her to and fro easily, not allowing his teeth to pierce her skin. She reminded him of his siblings, and got the same treatment. When the breeze blew over the land, his hair prickled at first. He too could smell this other wolf. He walked carefully in front of Keeya as he shiffted through the wolf's, a male it seemed, scent. He detected the scent of his Father on the brute, but there was nothing else familar. As he thought it over, he began to remember a silent wolf at the meeting. Must've been a newcomer his Father accepted, he'd assumed that then too. Had Father told him to follow them? He saw no threat in the wolf, and nudged Keeya. He is of the Clan, Keeya. If only just. He'll be no threat. Come, let's trot ahead a little. We need to continue marking. He scanned the horizon, but did not spot anything yet. Well, we must move slow. He'll have no trouble catching up. He gave a soft snort, clearing his nose to search for unknown scents around the border.

Keeya Keeya grinned at Basile, enjoying the rough play. She then glanced back over her shoulder and whined nervously. Even if their follower was part of the pack, she felt uneasy. She did recall Luma talking about another loner, and assumed that this must be him. Her brain, with the added excitement of being sent on a job, was addled, but after serious contemplation, she remembered a latecomer to the meeting, a silent male. That must've been him. Keeya quickened her pace, moving ahead of Basile so that if the other showed himself, Basile would be the one to deal with him. She pointed her snout forwards, examining bushes and rocks that she came across for any disturbance. After they had travelled some distance, she turned to look back once more at the singular Autumnal tree, blazing in hues of orange and red.

(Sorry I took so long!)
[centerJaden[/center]
Feeling the winds change, Jaden felt no need to listen further to the play and conversation of his two packmates to know he had been detected. He had every right to be with them, he well knew. The Alpha had sent him. Despite this, he had decided to hang back a bit, get to know them from a distance. So much for plan "A" he sighed softly to himself, padding quickly and noisily to the pair. Greetings, he said, dipping his head as a sign of respect to the two before him. I believe I failed to introduce myself at our previous meeting. I am Jaden, he continued, his tone one that could practically coax a hare into his jaws. His warm yellow eyes met briefly with each of theirs, just long enough for them to read good intentions without sending a challenge. Your father has sent me to accompany you, he told Basile, dipping his head again, this time in acknowledgment to the male's future rank. Or possibly making a mockery of the lack thereof, he thought to himself, covering his smirk with a warm grin.
