[shadow=black] Basile [/shadow]
A strong black male flew over the mountain lands. The sun shone down on him, making his silky black coat glisten. His muscles rippled under his pelt, finally fully developed. He had a broad chest, long powerful legs, and was a very handsome adult male wolf. He had the build of his Father, strong and big. The build of a leader. His whole body screamed masculine power with it's large nature. Everything that is, except his ego and personality.
Though he could be forceful when he wished, he was truly just a soft hearted brute. At a young age he'd been a bully. Controlling and cruel. He grew, and the disappearance of the sibling he always bullied seemed to effect him. In some way, perhaps he blamed himself. The beautiful black brute paused in his run. His tongue lolled from his mouth as he cooled. His pale green eyes sparkled with amusement. Those, along with his pelt had been a gift from his mother at birth.
He momentarily wondered about his mother and father. His pack. His ears flicked, as if hoping to hear something of them suddenly, after being alone for so long. Yes, truly Basile was a kind hearted brute. His family and pack always his main concern.

As if to emphasize this suddenly a white blur came running from the direction he'd just come from. His younger sister skid to a messy stop beside him, panting harder then he had. He glanced to her with amusement. At least he'd been able to find her and watch over her. He'd taught her to hunt, with his help, and alone.
The sister, little Aisha, was one of the many fem of the last Alpha litter. She contrast her brother greatly. While he resembled their Mother in pelt and eye, she resembled their Father. She, however, was the total female.
Small, with a body that promised grace once she grew into it. Her looks too promised the appearance of royalty, once she grew into them. Her brown orbs surveyed the land. She lifted her white muzzle to the wind. She scented the air, but got only the smell of the oncoming fall.
I've scented no one, Basi. She called her brother by a playful nickname. We've covered different parts of the land over and over again since spring, and only managed old scent to show for it. Do you think they've gone? Her brown orbs held sadness, to lose her Mother and Father. She was lucky to have found Basile.
At a month shy of a year she'd wandered away from her Mother and siblings. A winter storm hit, and the snows started early. Cold and alone, with only minimal hunting experience she was surely doomed. Then, from the snow emerged a black figure. Basile bearing his dinner for the night. He'd been headed to his den, where he'd hole himself up during the harshest storms. He'd given her his meal and taken her to the den. With her and his combined body warmth, she slowly began to recover. Ever since then, she'd stayed with Basile, knowing she owed him her life.

Basile looked to Aisha and gave her cheek a reassuring lick. Don't lose hope, Sister. We will find our family. We'll find our pack. Spaces of not seeing each other have happened before. The Kameskai always bounces back. He smiled knowingly, and saw her eyes light up.
Her banner wagged and she happily gave a small yip of thanks. Basile glanced back out to the Kameskai land.
What I keep from you, dear sister... He thought. Is that we have never gone this long between seeing each other. I must protect you from your own mind, though. You will forgive me, one day.
