He knew that there was wisdom in the white wolf Clouds words, truthfully he had known the decision before inquiring of her, but perhaps he had needed some form of support. He was unaccustomed to making the decisions for this pack on his own; this had been Larka’s pack after all. But as the days waned, something in his heart foretold of the coming journey being a lonesome one, and it pained him greatly to come to this realization, but it would do him no good, nor the pack good, to pretend that the facts weren’t the facts. In a short time he had changed from the distant dreamer of stars to the required level headed decision maker that was needed of an alpha. He was not only thinking of his own survival anymore, the pack’s safety rested on his shoulders. Perhaps a day would come again when Larka’s song would drift like flutes songs across the meadows. But perhaps it would not.
It was time the pack came together again, it was time they joined as one and migrated northbound in search of a stable diet and new gathering grounds. It was time to look onwards into the future. And so after giving a steady gaze towards cloud, cobalt eyes approving and thankful of her council, he drove his snout into the fathoms of her nape in a gentle embrace of gratitude. “It is time then my friend”. Stretching out slightly as he moved away from her, his body became rigid and taut with purpose. His jaws unclenched from the tension residing there and his haunches lowered to place his fluffy white rear end upon the fertile soil. The song that flowed forth was a powerful one, demanding attention, beckoning their presence, each and every one of his pack, his family. Come to me, it said. Come to me and learn of our new purpose, let us venture towards our future together.
Place a name upon the night, one to set your heart alight and to make the darkness bright Paint the sky with stars

Traveling alongside his sister had been a tiring experience, something akin to dragging a small child along by the hand when they wanted nothing more to sit down and play with their toys. Of course Arian was anything but lazy, she just did not see the world the same way as he, did not yearn for adventure or seek out the unknown. She traveled along beside him silently, she did not complain but she did not offer a single syllable of input r suggestion. She was like the clouded haze that drifts lifelessly over the ground in the early morning hours. Oh Arian, perhaps she missed their mother so very much the depression ate away at her. He could not know for sure, and had decided it was best for now, not to speak of it. He was happy to have had her company anyways, and proffered her silent accompaniment to being alone. They had been heading back towards the den site mid afternoon when the call of their father rang out over Ravilin, and it caused a slight stutter in his stride as he stopped to listen. What of this... he wondered, for there was an acute demanding tone in his father’s vocalization that usually was not there. Puzzled he looked first to his sister and then back in the direction they were already heading and burst into an abrupt run, crashing through the dense underbrush with his sister in tow.

There had been some time since Haokah had searched out any companionship, she had gone to Surulian and had found him but her mood was still adrift and thus with little to notify her companion she had left again, she did not feel this was right or good for she was sure he was just as excited to she her as she was to see him but something was amidst with her heart and she needed to seek this longing out before anything in her life could move forward. Her eyes had told him this as best she could before turning and walking slowly back into the pack lands, her emerald eyes flicking back and forth yearning for him and his touch for she felt a deeper connection to the midnight male but yet her eyes closed in almost a pain, walking through the pack lands these many long days, surviving on small prey, enough for just herself and familiarizing with her surroundings. It was almost a full turn of the moon before she even truly felt any sense of others left in the land like the birth of the little had done so much to bring everyone together but like her they also seemed to disappear. Their calls going unheard and their scents becoming dim in the atmosphere. She wondered as to what was really going on in the mind of the alpha she had met with briefly once for his scent was strong and that of his kin but of his love, she seemed to be like perfume on the wind that was fading away. It only seemed right that the morning when her sweet delicate smell was not evident anymore that she heard a call. The call strong but longing for the pack, it was calling for them to come to him and her heart beat to this tune. She rose from beneath the fallen tree that also bordered up against a large boulder providing the best that she could find for shelter in the night.
Awake now she stretched herself, long gangly forelimbs pushed out before her as her spine was pushed downwards in a long sleek line. Her muscles so settled in one position from her slumber were now pulled tight and than released and she stepped back into a standing position. She truly had thought of company and had always wondered about the dear Surulian, she felt like she had made her peace with whatever it was that yearned inside of her and perhaps was ready to really be within the company of others, a team for the hunts so that she might be able to taste the deer she saw so many times, a companion perhaps to Surulian if that is something he was open to and a loyal member to the alpha who seemed to remain strong even in a time as this. She turned to the direction of his call and began to walk towards him at first still awaiting her muscles to wake as much as her mind was. Once she felt safely capable she broke out into a run towards him, she felt guilt if she left him waiting especially after the tone his howl gave her, pulling at some ancient string within her, pulling her towards him. Finally she broke from the denser forest into a clearing and there the unfamiliar white wolf sat. She slowed herself immediately and lowered her head down. They were still truly strangers to one another and even though she was following him in his leadership she didn’t yet feel comfortable being completely open in front of him, instead she showed her submission to him as she approached. Once she drew near she did speak to him, her words soft, light and innocent as emerald eyes looked up to his. “I am here.” That was all she said.

The pale white female took the alpha's gentle hug in stride, reaching her own muzzle down to brush against his chest comfortingly. It was a hard decision he had made, but the pack needed a leader who could put aside their grief and take them onward into the forest. They needed to bond, to become closer, and certainly scattered as they were like the debris of the previous autumn… it was not good for the clan in the long term. So when his voice lifted above her, Cloud stood in silence beside him. Her eyes peered off in to the distance, seeking the familiar presence of her friends, her family. She had not seen Lorkan, dear young brute to her, since nearly before Larka had again vanished.
When Atarax arrived, the white wolfess greeted him with a kind, low woof. How you have grown, she seemed to say as her bright blue eyes took in his gangly yearling appearance. Arian, too, had matured, but neither yet held the grace of an adult. It wouldn't be long, she knew, before they would however.
Moments later the crashing of the underbrush to her right allowed the form of Haokah to appear. The other she-wolf crept forward, and Cloud wondered at her. She had not seen much of the newer female - not really new, anymore, really. Yet, she had not seen much of anyone lately, in truth. A soft rumble was also issued toward Haokah, a gentle murmur in her voice. Welcome, sister.

S A R V A R N I Sarvarni's large presence had taken up with the shadows of the forest. He simply could not stand the heat of the summer months, and it irked him to think that he might well have to live with it for the rest of his days unless he returned North ( impossible, he knew). It meant a long, lonely time on his own. Even though he had seen Zena a few times, and some of the others from a distance or known their passing by scent, he kept to the outskirts. Living alone within a clan was not a healthy decision, on his part. There were limited things he could hunt, and so the large wolf lost a little weight. And still, all signs of his elusive father escaped him. When Atka's call sounded off in the distance, demanding, Varni knew he would have to respond. His voice lifted, quickly, I come. Larka's call was strangely not added the demand, but he thought nothing of it. He had not known that she was missing. His large frame bounded through the forest, clearing shrub and undergrowth with powerful leaps and bounds. Sometimes, he simply crashed through it. It was not uncommon for briars and thorns to find their way into his dark, gray-brown pelt. Leaves sometimes found themselves wedged into odd places, as well. When he arrived at the meeting place, he looked a mess. Fur rumpled and sticking up, comically, and his waste thinner than he liked it. Yes, time had told on him, but he was in his prime and would recover quickly while with the rest of the clan. Greetings, he rumbled, looking around. Atka, the cubs Arian and Atarax, the quiet and reclusive Haokah, and the friendly, warm Cloud. All white. He snorted, a grin appearing on his muzzle. Home sweet home. For now.

[bgcolor=000000] She felt like a ragdoll pulled along by a string, perhaps that was what she was, nothing but a tangled mess of white pelage and solemn eyes. She did not find the joy that her brother did in such adventures, and could truthfully say that one large overhanging tree limb looked just like the next, just like the frequent pile of sandstone rubble or scuttling brook. She cared only of thoughts of her mother and of returning to the pack gathering to listen of news of their homeland. And so when her father’s resounding call echoed through the air, her eyes immediately perked with a gleam of brilliance, her stride which had been unfaltering yet slow, quickened considerably. She bound after her brother with the agility of a fox and she seemed to linger upon the gale like an arctic plume. Her sinewy limbs were not completely in proportion with her rather petite bodice, but she managed to be rather graceful despite those shortcomings. Softly she nosed at her father’s shoulder before giving a playful tug to Cloud’s curiously fluffy coat and came to rest near where her brother had flopped down awaiting the news their father would bring. Her eyes took in those around her, knowing some only by memory for they hadn’t remained a constant entity in the pack lands and yet were just as much family in her eyes.
