Here lies the King, days of old reflected in his eyes. Faris smiled at the sight of his son, glad he was well. With two strong wolves at the top, perhaps he would finally make it out... no, no thinking like that. He would make it out. He had to now.
He conjured what adrenaline he could gather for this task. His thoughts fueled mainly by his family and wanting to be able to attack them with his affections. Muscles geared, the brute made a dashing run at the wall of rock and ice. He felt his paws hit the first layer of rock, his mucles protesting about the first lunge. A jump to a safer leg successful, the wolf continued with the momentum up the white slope, hoping a slip would not occur.
His velocity died as he reached the top, his muscles giving out. He put all his strength into the last jump. The rock his hindpaws landed on cracked, and he quickly pushed off before it had the chance to crumble beneath him. His silver fur flew as he reached out to his son and packmate, urging them to save him from his deepening loneliness. Here lies the King, forever loyal until he dies...

Lorkan was ready and waiting for his father, he snapped his jaws closed in such way as to grip more than tear. adrenaline fueled his muscles as he knew he held his father's life in his jaws, but he would not be strong enough to pull him up on his own-he was so focused that he couldnt see if rhys had grabbed him as well. Propelling himself backwards for the second time that day, Lorkan spread his large paws and gripped the frigid earth beneath him, yanking backwards for all he was worth.
Please, please give me the strength to save him...even if he abandonded mother and I for most of my life...He is my father...

I’m the warrior of life, I know the reaper by name. His neck elongated when it needed to, being sure to catch the old brute where it would not injure his joint. The two almost had perfect armony in their catch, and equal timing in their movement back. Rhys rumbled not from difficulty, but as a warning to Faris. Do not forget my words. Oceanic orbs watched carefully to see if the silver wolf would take back his life from the muzzle of despair. My blood's running cold; I see pain wherever I go…

Here lies the King, days of old reflected in his eyes. Faris felt the firmness of their teeth collide with his flesh. A growl emerged from the slight pang of pain, but he refocused it on using his hind legs to gain leverage on the wall of the chasm. His aging bones managed to hold him as his muscles propelled him up, allowing him to be pulled more than dragged. He felt his stomach scrape against the cliff, but the anguish there was soon cooled as he felt it fall against the snow.
Faris lay on the white, his eyes caught by the bones of the forest he thought he'd never see again. He was free. Now, it was time for the consequences of his disappearance into the hole... consequences that weren't his to collect. They were fate's... fate's fault he fell. Why... why?! Faris' dull, golden orbs began to glaze over, a whine escaping his muzzle. Here lies the King, forever loyal until he dies...

Lorkan let go of his father's forlimb gently, licking it a few times to try and dull the ache that he had caused. Nudging the thin frame of his father, he kept pestering him, willing him to stand.
can you rise, father? We should leave this place and get you something to eat...
It was true that he wanted to get his father food, but in the pit of his stomach he new that he was delaying taking him back to mother, saving them both from the anguish seeing each other would cause for just a while longer.
Moving away from him slightly he turned to Cloud and nuzzled under her chin, his plume waving gently from side to side. Forgive me for scaring you...I shall never do it again...

I’m the warrior of life, I know the reaper by name. Rhys huffed after the task was complete. No longer was the aging brute stuck within the cage to wither and die away. He had wasted a very important portion of his life down there... now was his time to make it up.
The darkest wolf turned after he gave a nod to everyone present. The job done, he relinquished ownership of responsibility over Lorkan over to where it belonged--to Faris. It was time for him to return to the forest, to wonder over the events occuring during the new day. As he walked away, he glanced back only to look at the small family, a weak smile on Rhys' facade. Stay safe... And, even though he'd singled out the three males in his gaze, he secretly meant it for the unkown fae, too. My blood's running cold; I see pain wherever I go…

Here lies the King, days of old reflected in his eyes. Remembering the words of the youngster yet again, Faris stood above ground for the first time in seasons. His front pillars were weary from the shock of being bitten, but that couldn't be helped. His mind foggy, he watched the shadow move off towards the trees as he always had. Faris gave a snarl over to him when he turned back. Return to Larka when you are done with yourself. Nobody needed to be wandering. It was how he got in this mess in the first place.
The silver wolf looked to the rest of them, counting his two sons and a stranger female. His eyes held gentle question, wondering who she was. Who might you be? His orbs moved to Lorkan, suspicious. Realizing his introduction was half finished, he continued. I am Faris, father to these two idiots who helped save my life. His insult was playful, and he nudged Lorkan with his shoulder. There was so much more going on in his head, but he decided to let the simplicity of the moment keep him content.
Here lies the King, forever loyal until he dies...

Cloud stood back with bated breath as the attempt was made - and was successful. Her banner took to waving of its own accord, and the fem stepped forward to accept Lorkan's apology and touch beneath her chin. She even managed to give Rhys a smile before he left, although if he saw it or not was another matter. The more logical side of her mind had already begun to ponder over what would happen when Faris, apparently the previous alpha male, found that his mate had already taken another to her side. Would he be angry? Would he fight, or would he simply back down? She was still deciding what she thought he would do when suddenly the brute had addressed her.
She dipped her head to him, for regardless of his choice of future actions he was still a senior member of the clan. My name is Cloud, and I am new to the clan. I joined only toward the end of the autumn season. Her tassel lowered respectfully, and the soft glint in her eyes examined him while downcast. Earlier, before we came here, we had retrieved some bark which strangely helps wounds to heal. Perhaps you would like to try it's miracles on your legs, where those idiots bit you? She smiled, humor dancing across her face as she brushed against Lorkan, showing no harm was meant.

Lorkan smirked at their banter, feinging wounded pride.
Why dont we hunt? it has been a long time since we have been together, we can go find a stream which should lead to those numbing trees...
He moved his orbs from his father, to his brother and back to Cloud. He was restless, he noticed that it was becoming harder and harder for him to stand still, he always wanted to be moving.

[glow=wheat,3,500]L Y S A N D E R[/glow] Walk straight for a final solution. Walk straight, don't you be so cold. Lysander chuckled, abundantly more than happy for how the situation turned out. He couldn't help himself when his father make the joke about "the idiots" and how this new wolfess, apparently titled Cloud, joked with him. It almost seemed as though the old days had returned for the blink of a moment.
Yes, father, let us make haste towards dinner! It has been so long since we've both dined on a full course. Lysander agreed as he made his way closer to the others.Walk straight with a clear resolution. I'll state my case and never turn...

Here lies the King, days of old reflected in his eyes. Faris gave a throaty chuckle, a wide grin remaining after the sound had passed. It was as easy as that to find favor in the old wolf's eyes; he liked this Cloud. Yes, yes, alright. Shall we go find this bark you speak of, then? Gray crania nodded forward, indicating for one of them to lead the way. The thoughts of Larka were chased away for now, but lingered at the borders of his mind, waiting acceptance.

Lorkan nodded his crania and looked around, trying to pick up the scent of a larger body of water. He knew the trees only grew near substantial water. Shrugging his shoulders he started to move away from where his mother had been, more towards the southern part of their territory.
We have to find water...the trees only grow near water...where there is water there is usually prey...
He looked back at them, not seeing himself as a leader but they seemed to have semi appointed him as such.

Here lies the King, days of old reflected in his eyes. Faris smiled at his son, pushing him with the tip of his nose. Go on. The silvery brute didn't want to think about anything that moment. He wished to stay in his thoughtless state, unless one of the group brought him out of it.
