I have seen games with this system before and thought about changing MI to something similar to them...
Basically, no new characters would come into the game except through birth or special permission for plots and to add to the gene pool. This would make the wolves more closely related and more closely knit together in plots, because eventually everyone would know everyone else. MI's not a completely "realistic" game, but this system would make it more realistic because it would prevent new wolves from popping up all the time from who-knows-wheres. It would also make potential new members have to be very devoted to the idea of joining, because they would only get a chance if a character was up for adoption. It also would encourage pack wolves born into the pack to leave to find mates elsewhere, and perhaps then they could join again later if they so desired. Another good thing that might stem from this system is that it would force different players to take cubs from new litters if they wanted a new character, and things would become more centered around bloodlines.
It's just a thought, but I wanted to see what everyone else liked or disliked about the idea.
