Out of the deepest foliage crept a silver femme that had not been seen in these parts for a great while. Alone she had traveled the forest listening as the calls of the others had faded in the distance between her retreating frame and the packlands.Soon even those faded into nothingness leaving her with only her thoughts and random bird calls as constant companions.
As of late Soul had begun to wonder what had become of the others. Once they had all been a close knit unit but as the seasons came and went it seemed the pack had spread preferring their own self inflicted solitude to the constant hustle and bustle of pack life wandering the land ,as she had, more like the loners they used to be each dealing with their own demons.
The slightly aged femme continued on her journey day by day venturing closer and closer to more familiar territory but even then the scent of the ravilin pack was still faint. Passing by landmarks in her own mind she saw the places she had played as a pup. A few days later the site Aeolus's mother had given birth and shortly thereafter passed on into the next realm. These were but a few of the memories that crossed her mind as the old beta traveled nearer. Once she thought the scents of Carrick and Zena had crossed her nostrils yet she chalked that up to a distant memory as both scents faded just as quickly as they had reached her.But the scent of unfamiliar beings that carried the scent of the pack was strong and she wondered how much she had missed in her time away.
She neared the den site a memory flashing where she had played with Larka's second litter, then the incident that even now still pained her to recall, of little Thaddeus and the wound he had received from Thatcher.A soft sigh escaped her muzzle as lithe pillars carried her to the edge of the den site where Soul settled on her haunches beneath a large tree. Something was wrong she was sure of it the sense of impeding doom lingering over the forest she called home.Curling a silver banner around her feet she settled in for a short grooming bending her crania to remove debris from her pelt.
